Ferrari F460 Tifosi Concept Car
Ferrari F460 Tifosi concept car was created by Atilla Tay - a Transport Design graduate from the Art Center College of Design, Pasadena.
Ferrari F460 Tifosi concept is a proposal for a successor to the current Ferrari F430. Based on the F460 name, Ferrari F460 Tifosi concept would be powered from a 4.6 litre, mid-mounted V8. And, like the F430, the Tifosi’s engine is visible through a glass rear hatch. The ‘Tifosi’ part of the name is taken from the Italian word for ‘fan’, and in Italy the word Tifosi is often used to describe the supporters of Scuderia Ferrari in Formula One.
Ferrari F460 Tifosi concept is similar in size, proportion and layout to the F430, but with perhaps a slightly more slippery profile. The exterior design of the concept is inspired by the shape of DNA, using continuous flowing lines to define the surfaces. The matt black color of the concept helps to emphasize style lines of the concept.

Ferrari is celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2007 with a major event from June 21st to June 24th in Maranello, Italy. Maranello will be the finish line in a "relay race" across five continents where participants will carry a baton embossed with symbols of the 60 greatest moments in the company's history. The relay represents an extraordinary, collective sign of enthusiasm that will bring together Ferrari clients and their cars representing every model and era. The "Ferrari 60 Relay" will kick off on January 28th in Abu Dhabi, site of the future Ferrari theme park, and conclude in Maranello on June 24th, after traversing about 50 countries in 148 days. The central theme of the final events is technological innovation pioneered by Ferrari in the 60 years of its existence. For the occasion, Ferrari is assembling its 60 most important innovations, ranging from aluminum pliers for disc brakes to the electric differential and the F1 gearbox. Against this backdrop Ferrari has organized its first concours d'élégance: a series of events on the track, at the factory and at the Galleria Ferrari in Maranello celebrating the elegance of the Ferrari. An Opera Omnia book will be published on the company's history, a collection of pictures and data on all the road cars and race cars built by Ferrari. The baton for the Ferrari 60 Relay was specially created to symbolize the history of the company, from its first success at the Rome Grand Prix of 1947 to the Ferrari FXX of 2006. Our clients will carry the baton around the world in their cars. Each country along the way will dedicate to Ferrari an object representative of their local culture and traditions. The local Italian Embassies will then forward the objects to the Farnesina Palace in Rome for an exhibition of the whole collection. Once the exhibit is over, the objects will be auctioned off in Maranello, with the proceeds going to a charity organization.
From Abu Dhabi the long relay will proceed to Dubai, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia. From the Emirates it will head east, to Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, China, Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, Taiwan, Australia, and New Zealand. From Oceania it will fly to South Africa and then on to Latin America, reach Mexico, and from there continue on to United States and Canada. Then to Europe, where it will cross Portugal, Spain, France, Luxembourg, Belgium, Holland, the United Kingdom, Greece, Russia, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia and Turkey. It will then touch Egypt and Lebanon, and finally to Italy, where it will touch all the main cities finally arriving, after a special ceremony in Rome, in Maranello. Of particular interest are the 60 symbols created for the 60 events. Enamel reproductions of them by Editalia (Gruppo Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato) will be applied to the baton, and 60 posters of the symbols will also be made. What makes these symbols unique is the fact that they were produced by six different creative teams, guaranteeing a vision of the whole of great graphic and symbolic interest. The following advertising agencies were the creators: Intesta e D'Adda, Lorenzini, Vigorelli, BBDO, Alessandro Migliorini of Area Creativa, Marco Morosini, Enzo Naso of the eponymous firm, and Wolfgang Seidl of Seidldesign.

Ferrari launched the FXX program in 2005 and is the most advanced GT ever created at Maranello. Now a new Evolution package enhances the handling of performance and we can looking forward to further evolutions as the project has been extended by 2 years up until 2008/2009.
The FXX's 6262 cc V12 engine packs a mind boggling 860hp at 9500rpm, this is an increase of 70hp/1000rpm on the previous version which has allowed for gear ratio modifications, the time for gearshifting also drops by 20ms down to 60 ms.
The FXX Evolution Package features a new traction control system with 9 (nine) different settings giving the driver even more options to influence the car's behaviour on the track, just as F1 drivers do to maximize performance. The FXX is equipped with special 19' bridgestone tyres which last even longer due to the new car setup and front suspension geometry. These are backed up with new brake pads which now last twice as long.
The aerodynamic efficiency has also been increased by 25% with the use of new rear diffuser, nolder and rear flaps and the active front spoiler control system settings have been modified to complement this.
The FXX is developed exclusively for track use and R&D purposes, unfortunately we will never see a road going version. There will be six planned events next year where the FXX will participate including the end-of-season Ferrari World Finals
Detailed content
FXX programme extended for further two years thanks to new evolution kit developed with assistance of Client Test-Drivers
The innovative FXX programme, based on the eponymous prototype car and launched by Ferrari in June 2005, is being extended to 2008/2009. The FXX, which is the most advanced GT ever created at Maranello, has been updated with an evolution package aimed at further improving its handling and performance. The package was developed as a result of Ferrari's collaboration with its Client Test Drivers and with the invaluable support of Michael Schumacher. The FXXs equipped with this package will also sport a new livery in addition to new rear wing profiles.
The FXX is not homologated for road use and there are no plans to compete with it either. In fact, the FXX prototype is designed exclusively for track driving as part of a specific R&D programme agreed with a selected group of just over 20 clients involving 14 group test sessions and 14 private ones in the last two years. Thanks to readings taken over the 16,500 kilometres of tests carried out in 2006 and the 18,500 kilometres covered in 2007, the modifications made to the car have focused on honing its aerodynamics, running gear and electronics. Seven-times Formula 1 World Champion Michael Schumacher also joined the ranks of the client test drivers and gave the programme the benefit of his vast experience on several occasions.
Maranello's engineers studied the wealth of information gained to develop a kit which will cut the FXX's Fiorano lap time to under 1'16'' (previously it was 1'18''). The FXX's 6262 cc V12 engine can now punch out a massive 860 hp at 9500 rpm. Gearshifting takes just 60 ms, a drop of 20 ms on the previous time, and the gear ratios have been adapted to make use of the extra 1000 rpm now delivered by the engine.
The car's new traction control system, developed in close collaboration with the GES Racing Division engineers, gives the driver a choice of no less than nine different settings (plus the off position) which are selected using a switch on the central tunnel. This means that the driver really can modify the car's behaviour on the track from corner to corner, just as the Formula 1 drivers do to maximise performance and reduce tyre wear. The FXX's traction control is also now less invasive and more flexible, adapting more efficiently to the individual driving style of each driver - a requirement pinpointed when this very extreme car was being driven on the track by non-professional drivers.
The FXX's special 19" Bridgestone tyres now last longer too thanks to a new car setup and new front suspension geometry, while the Brembo brakes, which boast large Composite Ceramic Material (CCM) discs, are more efficient with the result that the brake pads last twice as long. Thanks to the drivers' feedback the Ferrari engineers have also developed new aerodynamic solutions aimed at increasing downforce over the rear axle. The FXX now sports a new rear diffuser, nolder and rear flaps which have combined to increase aerodynamic efficiency by 25% overall. The active front spoiler control system settings have been adjusted to take these modifications into account too. New telemetry monitoring of the steering angle and brake pump pressure will further boost the interaction between Client test drivers and the company's engineers also. From next year onwards, it will be possible for drivers to have two extra video cameras mounted on their car in addition the existing rear-facing one. This will, of course, give the drivers excellent rear visibility without having to impinge in any way on the car's aerodynamics.
The FXX evolution package includes participation in a series of track events that Ferrari is organising at international circuits for 2008/2009. Six events are planned for each year (two in North America, two in Europe and two in Asia). In addition to these, the FXXs will also be participating, as per tradition, in the prestigious end-of-season Ferrari World Finals.
As happened in 2006/2007, the cars will be backed up at each event by a 15-member official team made up of engineers, electronics experts and mechanics capable of providing complete assistance to clients. Needless to say, the latter will still be able to organise their own private individual track sessions in their car as well.

The 2008 Ferrari F430 Challenge Stradale is a high-performance F430 derived from Ferrari's F430 Challenge series racecar. Compared to the standard F430 coupe, the Stradale features a more aggressive suspension, revised transmission, carbon-fiber interior trim and lightweight wheels — all of which are designed to give the Stradale a harder edge than the standard F430 coupe. According to our spies, the F430 Challenge Stradale will get a 30-horsepower boost over the standard model. This would be different from the race setup, as the official Challenge Series racecars use the same 483-hp V8 as the standard coupe. Regardless of its horsepower rating, we expect the street car to get the same F1 semiautomatic gearbox as its track-ready cousin. With quicker shifts and taller gears, the revised gearbox is specifically tailored for high-speed running. The F430 Challenge car rids itself of the stock F430's adjustable suspension in favor of a more one-dimensional track setup. It also uses a mechanical limited-slip rear differential instead of an electronic E-diff. We can't tell from the pictures if the Stradale will do the same, but new safety regulations restrict it from running with the same Lexan windows as the race version. It does look as though the Stradale will get a set of lightweight magnesium wheels, although they'll use a street-legal five-lug design in place of the Challenge car's center-lug race setup. One piece of hardware the two cars will share is a high-mounted exhaust, and from the looks of the measuring equipment attached it pushes the limits of legality. The F430 Stradale will also get a stripped-down interior. Carbon-fiber door panels can be seen on this prototype and previous Challenge Stradales have done without radios — or any other luxuries for that matter. More heavily bolstered sport seats are also fitted as standard.
