2009 Saturn Vue Hybrid Goes All the Way
Though GM is offering hybrids across an ever wider range of its fleet, executives will privately tell you that inside sales forecasts are extremely modest--as in 10 percent or less for any particular model.
Yet the General persists. The 2009 Saturn Vue, already offered with a mild hybrid option, will get a second--full hybrid--version. It features a 3.6-liter direct-injection V6 with a front-drive transmission and two electric motors. The vehicle will run in electric-only mode at low speeds and reverse. It uses fuel-shut-off technology during deceleration and regernative braking. GM officials say that it will get 50 percent better fuel economy than its nonhybrid sibling.
